What is Your New Year's Resolution?

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

The new year is a time to look towards the future while reflecting upon the past, and I love how the cherished tradition of making resolutions can focus the present towards a brighter tomorrow.

Quitting smoking, losing weight, studying hard and getting to class early are the most common resolutions, and also the easiest to break! Of course, there are more esoteric resolutions, such as being kinder to your little brother or giving more to charity.

Did you make any resolutions this year? If so, what is your new year's resolution? If not, why not? I'd love to hear your new year's resolution for 2010. Simply write an entry on your new year's resolution and share it with the class.

Happy Writing and Happy New Year!

Not a piece of cake, after all

Hanna: How are you?
Liza: I have a problem with my English exam.
Hanna: Tell me about it. I'm all ears. And please, go straight to the point; don't beat around the bush.
Liza: I thought the exam would just be a piece of cake, so I did not study.
Hanna: Now that really is a problem.
